Reading Websites to try:

  • Brainpop - There is so much to do at this site, try out the different subject areas for some fun activities. 
  • Storyline online - This is a website set up by the Screen Actors Guild Foundation.  It features actors reading wonderful children's books.  It is a great way to hear what a fluent reader sounds like.
  • Funbrain - This is another great website to try, it focuses on many content areas, especially math and reading!
  • Gamequarium - This site had great reading, math and language arts activities.

 

  • Online Picture Books - From the Reading Zone at the Internet Public Library. Find books and activities you can do online. 

 

  •  Starfall.com - FREE interactive storybooks and games along with free writing journals to download.
  • Words and Pictures - Practice spelling, listening and learning new words by playing fun games.
  • Jan Brett's Home Page - Find a book you like with "Hedgie's Book a Matic" and then go to the home page to  find activities and coloring pages you can do with it.
  • KidsRead.com - Learn more about your favorite books and authors.  Find more books that you'll love to read and write to your favorite authors.

  • AAA Math.com - Hundreds of Basic Math Skills plus interactive practice on every page! 
  • Multiplication - This is a great website to practice multiplication! Test your skills.
  • Connect the dots - This site helps children learn to count.
  • Cool Math.com - Fun Math games for all ages.
  • E-Lab - Online Math Activities from Harcourt Publishing, they publish our math series.
  • Figure this! - Take a challenge.  This is a site for the whole family.
  • Math.com - This site covers every math topic you need and the ability to ask the experts.
  • Math Cats - These cats love Math!  Find out why.
  • Multimedia Math Glossary - Now you can see what all those math terms mean.
  • Math Lessons that are FUN, FUN, FUN! - Students will find a variety of lessons and games on many different topics.

  • Quia Math - Practice Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, and rounding.  You can search by topic.
  • Tessellations  - This site is full of activities with exciting shapes!

Time for Kids: This is Time Magazine's site for kids.  We read a few Time for Kids stories this year.  It is a great site to check out.

 National Geographic Kids: Great site for exploration and learning.
